Saint Rambert is rich in architectural heritage. Go in search of Jehan, the small modillion that has escaped from the Department’s largest Romanesque church. This is the underlying theme of the trail on which you'll find a number of information panels.
Description
The market town of Saint-Rambert was built in the Middle Ages around the priory founded a few centuries before by monks from the Abbey of the Ile Barbe. Saint André's church, the largest Romanesque church in the Loire department, Saint Jean's chapel and the numerous timber frame houses remind us of this period during which this village, close to the river, became a busy commercial town .
